General Information:
The door thickness is 2". The weight of the door will vary depending on the style and size. A 3'0" x 8'0" door weighs approximately 200 - 250 lbs.
All doors are equipped with interior glass panels that open independently from the doors.This feature allows ventilation, cleaning ease and extra security by keeping the door closed and locked between the homeowner and the outside party. The glass frame comes ready to accommodate either a 1/4" or 5/8 " tempered glass.
Our standard hardware spec is 2 1/8" boring, 2 3/4 " backset, 5 ½" center to center. Lever handles can not be used on the inside of the doors , they will interfere with the ability to open the independent glass panel. Locksets for the jamb are not prepped at our mill shop. This is to allow for fine tuning once the door is set. We only provide boring on the door slabs themselves. After the door is installed the jamb will need to be prepped by your installer.
The doors come on a pre-hung unit with a custom made steel frame. The steel frame supports the weight of the door and allows ease at installation.
All units are insulated with a high quality polyurethane foam insulation that is pumped into the framing and also into the body of the door.
Extension flush bolts are used on double door units. The flush bolt is the mechanism that locks the inactive leaf of a double door unit. One flush bolt locks into the top of the doorframe and the bottom flush bolt locks into the threshold / floor.
Our doors are constructed of combination 14 & 16 gauge steel.
A combination of foam and rubber weather stripping is used around the doorframe, the glass frame and the rubber sweep making the door very weather tight. Temper glass is used on all door units for safety measures.
There are two options on the swing of the doors : swing in or swing out. Pricing is determined by size of unit and type of design selected.
Glass Limitations:
Once the glass size gets to be over 80" the only styles available are Clear, Flemish and Cotswold
