One Home - 30 Doors & Windows
Located just outside our nation’s capital in northern Virginia, this home has 26 doors and 4 windows crafted by Clark Hall Iron Doors. This project included the main residence, guesthouse and pool house representing over 16,000 square feet of living space. Old World craftsmanship exudes from this home, with its European stone, slate roof, and handcrafted walnut paneling. The warmth of our bronze dynamic finish complimented the overall look. The architect selected our simulated divided light doors and windows with flat-iron mullions for the secondary doors to maintain a streamline appearance on the exterior and interior of the home.
Some homeowners strive to make their entries as large as possible, but it is important to ensure that the size of your home and the front elevation are in proportion. At every turn this home and all of its elements were in perfect proportion. In keeping with the grand scale, this home's front entry was 10 feet tall and 7 feet wide. The secondary doors and windows were 9 feet tall with double doors 6 feet in width and single doors 3 feet in width.
An enclosed breezeway between the main residence and guesthouse is flanked on each side by a pair of fixed windows and double door. The architect kept the breezeway interesting by making the shape of the windows and doors unique. This type of design element can only be accomplished with custom workmanship.
